Putting up the tree is one of my favorite things to do. My tree is not complete without the following things: 2 turtle doves that I have had for 42 yrs...they came from a flower arrangement place on my dad's grave; the Lionel train that my dad received for Christmas in 1955 goes under my tree...it still works (myself & 3 brothers each have 1 train set that dad received at different Christmases; lastly are the ornaments to commerate Baby Jesus' birth...this tradition started with my youngest daughter in 1998...times were hard but all she wanted was to wish Jesus a "Happy Birthday"....she has now started that tradition for her & her 3 boys.
