Ohio has worst African American infant mortality rate in country
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Ohio now has the worst African American infant mortality rate in the country.
That was one of the reasons leaders in the city of Cincinnati have earmarked money to fight the problem. Cincinnati city council members heard from Cradle Cincinnati September 2nd, 2014.
The collaborative group works to raise money and awareness to reduce infant mortality in the city. Cincinnati's infant mortality rate is double the national average.
Councilmember Wendell Young and Hamilton County commissioner Todd Portune co-chair Cradle Cincinnati.
The city has $250,000 budgeted for the cooperative.
