Thief smashes into St. Bernard market

ST. BERNARD, Ohio (WKRC) -- A thief smashed his way into a market in St. Bernard early Monday morning.

The thief tried to smash the bottom of the front door of the St. Bernard Market on Vine Street, but that didn't work. So then he used a brick to break out a large window of the store.

A witness says he saw the thief leaving with a crate full of lottery tickets, cigarettes, candy and more. He ran across Vine to the parking lot of Jerry Day Auto. He got into an older, light-colored minivan and drove off.

The witness described the thief as a black man in his 30s. He was 5' 10" and bald. He was wearing a white button-down shirt and blue jeans.

If you have any information, you're asked to cal St. Bernard police at 242-2727.
