Former Colerain teacher released early from prison

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A judge ended the sentence early for a former Colerain science teacher who had sex with a student, but not without some harsh words.

Julie Hautzenroeder was sentenced to two years in prison for her conviction of sexual battery and began serving her sentence in January.

At the time of her sentencing, she asked for no prison time so she could take care of her young daughter. "I'm taking into consideration you do have an 8 year old daughter which you've been separated from," said Judge Norbert Nadel.  "I indicated what you did was stupid and irresponsible, but i do feel that you've paid some debt to society and for that reason i'm going to grant the motion."
Prosecutors did object to the motion. They said Hautzenroeder has never shown any remorse and has never apologized. They also said the time she has served is not enough.

Hautzenroeder will be on probation for six months. She will have to register as a sex offender every 90 days for the rest of her life.
