Medical Edge: Silkpeel Dermalinfusion treatment
CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- A local mom said a new skin treatment was helping her look younger and feel better.
She signed up for it at the Rejuve Cosmetic and Wellness Center in Hyde Park. Amanda Kelly said as a busy mom, she often committed summer-time skin sins.
Kelly said, "I am at soccer games for my daughter and I am always in the sun. And I love the sun, I am a sun goddess!"
So to try and undo some of the sun she's soaked up Kelly signed up for "silkpeel dermalinfusion." Skin specialist Jennifer Anderson said it works like a fountain of youth for your skin through a wand that peels off cells on the skin's surface.
"What it's doing is just gently exfoliating the top layers of the skin," Anderson explained.
They want people to notice something really different about how their skin looked in the mirror afterward. Rejuve added in a special formula customized to to each individual's skin that got infused during the treatment. The formula was made of dermaceuticals.
"We have different formulas depending on what your concerns are. So we have a vitamin C hydrating, which is what I used on her today. We have one for acneic, one that's just hydrating, one for just fine lines and wrinkles. So we customize it to whatever you want to work on," said a Rejuve employee.
Kelly's skin cells removed wind up in a bottle and she said it didn't hurt, "It feels like a suction. You can feel a little of the abrasion, some, but the solution cools it immediately."
Each treatment cost about $150 but the value of sun damage removal according to Kelly was priceless.
