Man ruled too fat for prison appeals to return home

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A former pharmacist who was ruled too fat for a prison cell wanted to come home to Cincinnati before he died.

70-year-old Steven Goodman was convicted in connection with a pill mill ring operating in south Florida.  He supplied more than 1 million powerful prescriptions at illegal clinics.  But at 551 pounds a judge said he could not go to prison because he could not dress or bath himself.
The judge put him on 30 months of house arrest.  Goodman asked to end it several months early so he can return to town to get his affairs in order.
The judge said no.
