Suspect in Middletown shooting has extensive record

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WKRC) -- Police have filed charges in the shooting of a man in Middletown Wednesday. They say Juan Douglas
Wofford shot Carlos Knight at Douglass Park.

Investigators say as soon as the two met at the park, Wofford pulled out a gun and shot Knight in the head. Several people were at the park and witnessed the shooting. Knight is in critical condition.

Police want to find Wofford, who also goes by Little Dougie. They say he was a suspect in a 2008 shooting at The Grand Illusion. That victim, Spencer Davis, died from a shot to the head. Police say no one would testify in that case, even though the parking lot was full of people who witnessed the murder.

Wofford was in prison on drug-related charges until May 9. On May 14, police arrested him at Douglass Park for heroin possession. Police have charged him with various crimes 56 times in the past. He's now charged with felonious assault and a gun charge in this shooting. They consider him armed and dangerous.

If anyone has any information about Juan Wofford you're asked to call 425-7724 or 425-7720.
