New lawsuits filed over traffic cameras

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WKRC) -- Two new cities will become targets of lawsuits aimed to stop the use of traffic cameras.

Attorneys plan to represent drivers who received tickets from traffic cameras in West Carrollton and Trotwood Ohio.  Lawyers for the same firm that fought against cameras in Elmwood Place and New Miami are involved in this legal challenge.  In both of those cases the cameras were ordered turned off.

A similar lawsuit is challenging the use of speed cameras in Dayton  as well.  Ohio's Supreme Court will hear arguments next week in a driver's lawsuit against Toledo's cameras.  Meanwhile, bills pending in the statehouse would restrict or change rules for camera use.
