Northern Ky. hosts walk to fight heroin abuse

INDEPENDENCE, Ky. (WKRC) -- More than 1,000 people hit the streets to bring attention to heroin abuse.

The "Northern Kentucky Hates Heroin Walk" was Saturday in Independence.

Runners stepped off at Simon Kenton High School. They're raising money and awareness for treatment and prevention.

Good Morning, Cincinnati's John Lomax was the emcee.

The event was started by northern Kentucky families impacted by the heroin epidemic.
