Gas prices dip in Cincinnati

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP/WKRC) -- Cincinnati drivers are paying a bit less at the pump to start the new work week. No relief yet in Northern Kentucky.

The cost for a gallon of regular gas in Ohio was averaging $3.74 in Monday's survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc.  It's $3.79 for Cincinnati drivers, on average. That's about a dime lower than a month ago, but it's about 21 cents higher than last year at this time.

It's worse across the river. Covington drivers are paying an average of $3.95. It's remained the same for the past week.

The national average Monday was $3.68 per gallon. That's a couple pennies more than a week ago.

Analysts say unrest in Iraq has kept the price of crude oil higher.
