Matt Bevin, Alison Grimes stop in Covington days before primary election

COVINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) -- Two candidates for the U.S. Senate from Kentucky made campaign stops in Covington Sunday, two days before the state's primary election.

Matt Bevin calls himself a conservative Republican, and he wants Senator Mitch McConnell's seat.

His bus tour stopped at Maifest in Mainstrasse Village this afternoon.

Bevin is due back in the tri-state for a stop at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport Monday afternoon.

Democrat Alison Grimes, another candidate for the U.S. Senate from Kentucky, also stopped at Maifest Sunday and spoke to the crowd.

Grimes is currently Kentucky's Secretary of State. She also wants McConnell's seat in the Senate.

The stop was part of her 10 days, 50 counties "Alison for Kentucky Jobs" bus tour.
