Man appeals love triangle murder conviction

BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (WKRC) -- A man involved in a love triangle that led to the killing of his ex-girlfriend wants his conviction thrown out.
A jury found Leonard William Day guilty of complicity to murder and tampering with evidence in the death of Tina Rae Stevens.  Deputies found her body parts scattered in a remote part of Boone County in April of 2000.
Day's attorney claims a witness that could have cleared him was not called at trial.  Day's girlfriend, Deborah Huiett, is serving a life sentence for the murder.  She's also appealing the verdict.
