Calamity day bill

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A proposal by Ohio lawmakers will give students extra calamity days due to the snowy and bitter cold winter.

Wednesday a bill in the Ohio House passed.  It gives students four extra days off but teachers only get two.

Last week a vote was postponed because lawmakers could not agree on how many extra days should be allowed.  State law allows five calamity days and most districts have exhausted those.  Many have used ten or more because of the weather.
