Information about road crews and trash pickup in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Officials with the city of Cincinnati say crews are out plowing the streets. Half of the crews are plowing and treating primary roads, the rest of working to clear residential streets.
Due to the snow, parking restrictions are in place. Parking is not allowed along the Snow Parking Emergency Routes. Crews are trying to clear as much as they can before temperatures drop Wednesday afternoon. When clearing your driveway, you're asked not to shovel snow onto the street. It is a violation of a city ordinance and dangerous to other drivers.
It is especially difficult for crews to clear downtown streets. Road crews will haul the snow out of downtown, to a vacant city lot.
The city has not officially delayed trash pickup. Residents should put out their garbage for pickup. However, fewer sanitation workers are on the job today and ice is slowing them down. Some trash won't get collected today. If that happens on your street, leave your trash cart at the curb and crews will be by to pick it up as soon as possible.
