Bengals cheerleader files complaint against team

CINCINNATI, Ohio (WKRC) -- A Cincinnati Ben-gals cheerleader files a complaint against the team claiming she's underpaid for the hours of work she puts in for the team.

Alexa Brenneman was a member of the squad from May of last year through January of this year.  She says she received at most 90 dollars per home game at which the Ben-gals cheer.

Brenneman says between mandatory practices, charity events and public appearances, she worked more than 300 hours a year for the organization.  She says her pay rate came out to less than $2.85 an hour, well under the 2013 Ohio minimum wage of 7.85/hour.

The lawsuit seeks class-action status to cover any Ben-gals from 2011 through the present.  A team spokesperson won't comment on the specifics of the suit but calls it a copycat of one filed last month against the Oakland Raiders.
