Man pleads guilty to beating toddler to death in Sycamore Township
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A local man pleaded guilty Tuesday to beating his girlfriend's little boy to death in Sycamore Township.
Anthony Pierson pleaded guilty to a charge of aggravated murder. He beat 2-year-old James Livesay to death at a home on School Road in March 2012. In return for the guilty plea, the prosecutor took the death penalty off the table. Pierson could get life in prison without the possibility of parole when he's sentenced January 30.
Pierson was watching the toddler while his girlfriend was at school. When she returned she found her son unresponsive. The coroner ruled the toddler died of blunt force trauma. He had been stomped and struck.
Pierson was ordered not to be around James Livesay after at the time of his death. The toddler was previously hospitalized from abuse.
