Man Seriously Injured Leaving Norwood Bachelor Party

NORWOOD, Ohio (WKRC-TV)  Police in Norwood are searching for a driver in a hit and run crash that left a man with serious head injuries.

Chris Frank, 25, left a bachelor party on Ida Ave. shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. Neighbors said noise awakened them.

It was just a lot of commotion. We heard a thump and we come out and we come outside. The neighbors came over and was talking to me and let me know it was one of their friends and they had a party and got a little bit too tipsy, said Lisa Rudd who lives next door.

Rudd said speeding is a problem on her street. Hearing about a young man being run over in the area where her children play left her shaken.

"My heart just dropped. His life is just beginning. He has a whole future ahead of himself. And for that to happen that's just not right."

Police said they were not able to talk with Frank because he was unconscious when someone called 911 to report the crash.

"He's been through at least one surgery if not two. He's still considered in serious or critical condition.  He has family members with him, said Norwood Police Sgt. Tim Buchanan.

Police are looking for a vehicle that was seen in the area around the time of the crash. "Neighbors, or people on the street said that around the same time this would have occurred, a white vehicle possibly marked as a taxi cab, was seen driving down the street very quickly away from the accident scene, Sgt. Buchanan said.

Its not clear whether that vehicle is the one that hit Chris Frank.

"If somebody knows something, or if somebody heard or knows a friend that knows something, give us a call  so we can come up with an answer, Sgt. Buchanan said.

Local 12 News tried to talk with Franks friend at the house where the bachelor party was held. A man who answered the door said he did not want to comment.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Norwood Police at 513-458-4521.
