Operation Orange Fingers
A three day marijuana festival wrapped up at a Seattle park late last night.
It's, in part, a victory celebration following the legalization of pot in Washington and Colorado last fall. Thousands were expected to attend the event including some of Seattle's finest, who were armed with Doritos. Zahid Arab from CBS reports.
Pot is legal and for potheads, it's party time. With so much to know about the state's new marijuana laws Seattle police know the way to a stoner is through their stomach.
It's called operation orange fingers.
Some call it a publicity stunt but police say the stickers on the bag are a quick guide of the do's and don'ts of the law.
"We want people to take their product and use it in the privacy of their own residence and not on the street corners not in the parks."
But today was an exception. Hempfest creates an environment where they're free to do what's typically frowned upon.
The focus is now on nationwide legalization.
As for dealing Doritos with information, given the audience, not everyone may digest it.
It's estimated a quarter million people attended the festival.
