SWAT Team Raids the Old Pepper Lounge

Officers raided the former Pepper Lounge in Over the Rhine Monday afternoon.

The business that was raided is on vine street near West Mcmicken, is now a hair salon, police believe it's still the center of criminal activity.

Police obtained a search warrant and Cincinnati Police executed it as part of an effort to identify violent offenders, and where they conduct their business.

SWAT officers tossed a flash bang into the former Pepper Lounge. The boom of the device going off got quite a reaction from the crow of people who gathered to see what was going on.

Officers searched through the building looking for drugs and guns.

The hair salon has been operating out of the building for a while now but police say violent, criminal activity was originating from the location.

Captain Lee, of the Cincinnati Police Department, says he wants to send a message to business owners that they cannot allow people to engage in criminal activity at their businesses.

A variety of charges are pending out of Monday's search warrant.

The charges likely will range from felonious assault to drug trafficking.
