Saturday night, he thanked his high school coach for putting on the path for football.
"This guy right here came into my life when I was 17-years-old," said Carter. "I was one of the best basketball players in the state of Ohio. I had a brother in the NBA and I was only playing football to stay in shape. He told me, look me straight in the eye, and said, son, you have a better chance of being Lynn Swan, than you do Isaih Thomas. And Coach Connelly I appreciate the football you taught me. I appreciate you taught me how to play the game, said Carter.
Carter was joined by many of his contemporaries including Warren Sapp, Jonathan Ogden and Coach Bill Parcells.
