Holiday tree arrives on Fountain Square Saturday

CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati's annual holiday tree is set to arrive at Fountain Square early Saturday morning. A sixty foot Norway Spruce, provided by George Korohsazi of Norton, OH, will begin its procession to Fountain Square late Friday evening. Upon its arrival on Saturday, November 9, it will be lifted into place on the southwest corner of the square as the 2013 Macy's Holiday Tree. Strands of decorative lights and a five-foot-tall, red Macy's star will be added over the course of the next few days.

Zuk's Tree Moving will leave northern Ohio shortly after midnight on Friday, and is expected to arrive in downtown Cincinnati by 6 a.m. Saturday morning. The initial tree installation will run from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the decoration of the tree will follow. Decoration is expected to be completed by Wednesday, November 13.

The Holiday Tree serves as the centerpiece of the 2013 Macy's Light Up The Square event, which will take place on Friday, November 29th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
