New Information in Crash that killed UC Football Player
HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKRC) -- The Butler County Sheriff's Office says the driver who crashed, killing himself and a UC football player, was driving approximately 85 miles per hour.
Sean VanDyne crashed on September 21, while driving on Stahlheber Road. VanDyne and passenger Ben Flick died from their injuries.
Investigators also say the initial tests show the blood alcohol level for 18-year-old Sean VanDyne was .056. While under the legal limit for an adult, that is over the limit for a driver under the age of 21.
Investigators say neither VanDyne nor Flick were wearing seatbelts. The rear passengers who survived the crash, Mark Barr and Javon Harrison, were wearing seatbelts.
VanDyne was a freshman at Miami University who was recently married. Flick was a redshirt freshman on the Bearcats team.
