Cabbie's Death One Year After Kidnapping is a Homicide
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- A cabbie who was kidnapped and thrown in the back of his own taxi has died more than a year after the crime.
Cincinnati police report that Mulugeta Shiferaw died from his injuries in August. Today, the Hamilton County Coroner's Office ruled his death a homicide. He suffered brain damage while he was in the trunk of his taxi for ten hours. The ride ended with a crash on Township Avenue.
In May, a jury convicted Charles Black on kidnapping, felonious assault and aggravated Robbery charges. The homicide unit and the Hamilton county prosecutor's office are working to possibly add more criminal charges.
