Victims Want Attempted Murder Suspect in Prison

HAMILTON COUNTY (Angela Ingram) -- He is accused of trying to kill a woman in broad daylight and trying to stab two others at Government Square.

Tomorrow, Jerome Raven is in court to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial. Angela Ingram reports from the Hamilton County Courthouse.

Nick Saunders still gets angry when he thinks about Jerome Raven.  He says, He had a knife, I had a three and a half foot cane.  Wasnt no way he was going to stab me.
Last October Sunders says he hit Raven with his cane several times because Raven tried to stab him repeatedly.
Thursday Saunders will see the 32 year old in court.

The first time Raven went for the competency hearing, the doctor said that he had some issues but it wasn't that bad.
Saunders wants the court to rule that Raven is mentally competent to stand trial.
Police say last October on Government Square Raven assaulted a woman he didn't know for no apparent reason.
And when Tiara Metcalf confronted him police say Raven stabbed Metcalf more than nine times.

Raven is accused of trying to stab another man as well.
Saunders then followed Raven calling police to let them know Raven's location.
He's hoping the suspect stands trial and goes to prison.

Saunders says, Really he just need to be off the street.  Im not a doctor.  I can't say if he has mental issues or what but regardless he's violent.  Like I said, he likes to hurt people, I could see it.  I could see it when he came at me.  You know he told me, Im gonna kill you.  And I seen he meant it.
