Centre College on lockdown, cancels classes following Danville shooting


Centre College has been informed by Danville Police that it is clear to go off of lockdown, effective immediately. Classes will resume at 1:50 p.m.


DANVILLE, Ky. (WKRC) -- Due to a double homicide in Danville reported by local law enforcement, Centre College is on lockdown and classes are cancelled until further notice.

Local police have reportedly responded to a fatal double shooting and robbery at a pawn shop approximately two to three blocks away from campus.

The school has encouraged everyone to get to a secure building and stay where they are with doors closed.

Danville is located about 45 miles southwest of Lexington.
