Driver Killed in Verona Crash
VERONA, Ky. (Marc Juszak) -- A Northern Kentucky man was killed in a late-night auto accident that also sent two passengers to area hospitals.
The crash happened at approximately 10p.m. in the 14000 block of Walton Verona Road (KY-16) in Verona, Kentucky,
Christopher Peace, 29 of Verona, lost control of the 2012 Fiat 500 he was driving near Stephenson Mill Road, and his car left the roadway at a high rate of speed. It flipped, struck a tree, and came to rest upside down in a ditch.
Peace was pronounced at the scene.
Two passengers, Jonathan Huston, 31 of Covington, Kentucky and Peace's son, Travis Peace, 7 also of Verona, were air-lifted to University Hospital Children's Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio respectively. Huston was reported to suffer from life-threatening injuries and Travis with non life-threatening injuries.
The Boone County Sheriff's Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the collision. Speed and perhaps alcohol involvement are suspected contributing factors.
