Man Rushes Into Action To Save Lives from a Fire

Quick thinking by a man driving to work lead to the dramatic rescue of three people from a fire in West Price Hill.

The fire broke out at around 7:30 this morning at a multifamily building in the on Prosperity Way.

The man who spotted the fire jumped into action and is now downplaying his role as hero.

The hero of this story, Charles McDonald said he was just driving to work in this SUV when he spotted smoke. He pulled off the street went to a neighbors house and grabbed a ladder.  McDonald brought it over to this burning home to try and get people off of the roof who had climbed up there to escape the flames.

McDonald described it as a life or death situation for the man on the roof. Saying the stranded man had no choice but to get on the ladder if he wanted to get to safety.
Charles Mcdonald rushed in with no regard for himself saying the adrenaline just kicked in when he raced to the home.

Michael Shockley, Al Madden and Demetrius Cottman also assisted in helping those inside get outside okay.

But it was McDonald who was the man of the hour. He said his first and main thought was if there were any kids inside the home that couldnt get out.

Thankfully all those inside were able to get to safety, including several pets were rescued.  Amazingly hours after the fire was put out a dog was found hiding under a bed in the home.
