UPDATE: Two Year Old Dies in House Fire Identified
Local 12 now knows the identity of the little girl who died in a house fire on Tuesday.
Firefighters say two year old Marley Davis died in the fire on East 12th street Tuesday evening.
The toddler's parents managed to get out safely with the girl's four year old brother.
Rescuers found the child in a bedroom.
They transported her to a local hospital where she later died.
The boy suffered from smoke inhalation.
No more information will be released until the coroner completes an autopsy on the toddler.
A house fire turned deadly in Connersville, Indiana Tuesday.
Authorities have confirmed to Local 12 that a 2-year-old girl has died in a house fire at East 12th Street.
According to officials the parents of the child were in the basement of the home when the fire started. They came up the stairs and could smell the smoke from the fire.
They quickly grabbed their 4-year-old son and got out of the home. They reportedly could not find the 2-year-old.
Firefighters were able to locate the body of the girl in the home after the flames were put out.
The 4-year-old suffered some smoke inhalation and an autopsy will be performed on the 2-year-old.
It is not know at this time what started the fire.
