Adam 'Pacman' Jones Found Not Guilty
CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- The verdict in the Adam 'Pacman' Jones bench trial has been read.
The Bengals player has been found not guilty on the assault charge he was accused.
The judge said what Jones was guilty of was, " A lack of due care" but that it did not warrant an assault charge.
The original confrontation took place outside a downtown bar in June. Video shows Jones and a woman, Shannon Wesley, arguing before she poured a beer on him and he punched her in the forehead.
Wesley was on the stand Tuesday and testified against Jones. Before she did, the judge told her he had seen the video and that she made the first move.
Wesley testified she poured a beer on Jones in an effort to end the confrontation.
Jones said she hit him with a beer bottle and that he hit back in self-defense.
Wesley testified that she did not know who Jones was when she was arguing with him. She says the punch to her forehead was painful and that she had a headache for days.
