Health Alert: How Ebola spreads
CINCINNATI (Liz Bonis) -- A 46-year-old woman who returned from a trip to West Africa tested negative Tuesday for Ebola at a hospital in Columbus.
She apparently walked into an area emergency room showing symptoms of the disease. But that raised the question, how do you get infected with Ebola? With the international airport there could certainly be concerns that someone might travel to one of those infected areas in West Africa and might come back with symptoms of Ebola.
One of the things that everyone should know is how the disease is spread.
Dr. Kevin Meyer of Mercy Health West ER Dept. said, "It can be spread through multiple avenues but typically the people who are going to be infected are the people who are caring for people who have known disease or health care workers."
