San Jose, CA (Sports Network) - The San Jose Sharks placed forward James Sheppard on injured reserve Tuesday with a lower-body injury.

Sheppard has one assist in nine games for the Sharks this season. The ninth player taken in the 2006 draft, Sheppard missed the previous two NHL campaigns due to injury.
