Martinek rejoins Islanders

Uniondale, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Islanders and defenseman Radek Martinek have agreed to terms on a one-year contract.

Martinek has played in 460 career games, all but seven with the Islanders. He spent last season with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but missed the majority of the campaign due to injury.

The 36-year-old Czech has totaled 22 goals and 82 assists during his time in the NHL.
