Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Maple Leafs received bad news for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Toronto learned that goaltender James Reimer will be out at least one week after suffering a medial collateral ligament sprain in his left knee. That was followed up on Wednesday with the team announcing forward Matt Frattin will miss at least one week due to a knee injury.

Following Wednesday's practice, head coach Randy Carlyle told the media that Frattin will be having a procedure on his surgically-repaired knee.

Frattin was off to a hot start with seven goals and three assists in 10 games.

Also on Wednesday, the Maple Leafs recalled goaltender Jussi Rynnas from the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.

Rynnas was 8-8-1 with three shutouts and a 2.57 GAA in 17 games for the Marlies.
