Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - In a not so surprising move, the Columbus Blue Jackets placed defenseman James Wisniewski on injured reserve Wednesday.

Wisniewski is expected to be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks with a broken foot.

The 29-year-old Wisniewski suffered the injury when he was struck by a shot during Sunday's 1-0 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

In 15 games this season, Wisniewski has registered three goals and six assists.
