Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Jack Johnson on injured reserve and recalled forward Ryan Johansen from AHL Springfield.

Johnson suffered an upper-body injury in Saturday's 2-1 loss at St. Louis. He will be further evaluated when the club returns to Columbus following Sunday's game in Chicago.

In 18 games this season, Johnson has registered one goal with seven assists and ranks sixth in the NHL in average ice time at 26:13.

Johansen collected two assists in 10 games with the Blue Jackets earlier this season.
