Recap: Anaheim vs. Edmonton

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - Radek Dvorak netted both of Anaheim's goals to help the Ducks edge the Edmonton Oilers, 2-1, on Monday at Honda Center.

Saku Koivu tallied an assist on each of Dvorak's markers, while Jonas Hiller posted 27 saves for the Ducks, who have won two straight and four of their last five to extend their lead to 11 points over the Los Angeles Kings atop the Pacific Division.

"It wasn't a perfect hockey game, but I'm happy with the compete level," Anaheim coach Bruce Boudreau said. "We didn't break and got two points."

Nick Schultz scored the Oilers' lone goal and Devan Dubnyk allowed both goals on 38 shots in the setback, Edmonton's third in a row.

"For some reason, the last two games, we're taking more penalties," Schultz said. "We have to find a way to get points."

With 39 points, the Oilers find themselves four points back of the final playoff spot in the Western Conference with nine games remaining.

Dvorak's first marker gave the Ducks a 1-0 lead late in the first, as a long rebound off a Ben Lovejoy shot ended up in the slot, where Dvorak recovered it before backhanding the puck into the back of the net at the 17:21 mark.

After a scoreless second stanza, Edmonton found the equalizer just 1:12 into the third when Schultz rifled a quick shot from outside the left circle that beat Hiller high to the short-side to make it 1-1.

The Ducks answered just over 6 1/2 minutes later, as another long rebound off the pad of Dubnyk landed on the stick of Dvorak in the slot and the Anaheim winger pounded the disc into the empty net for a 2-1 lead at the 7:48 mark.

Edmonton peppered Hiller with shots for much of the final frame, but the Anaheim netminder was able to stop all but one of the 14 shots he faced to secure the victory for the Ducks.
