Recap: Dallas vs. Anaheim

Dallas, TX (Sports Network) - Viktor Fasth made 26 saves to record his third shutout of the season and the Anaheim Ducks beat the Dallas Stars, 4-0, on Monday.

It was the first of three games over five days between these two Pacific Division rivals.

Bobby Ryan had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who have won two of three and sit second in the Western Conference. Corey Perry, Matt Beleskey and Teemu Selanne also lit the lamp.

"He made big saves," said Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau about Fasth. "We weren't perfect tonight, we had break downs, and I think all Viktor did was frustrate that team. I've been on that end, whether it's a player or a coach. That was the big thing. We didn't want them to get one because we thought that would really energize them."

Kari Lehtonen stopped 26-of-29 shots for the Stars, who went 2-3-0 on a five- game homestand. They sit three points behind the Blues for the eighth spot in the West.

"Obviously the result isn't what you want," said Stars head coach Glen Gulutzan. "We didn't lose, we got beat. We got beat. We had enough there, if we would've capitalized, to win."

The Ducks' offense got going at the 10:13 mark of the second period. Ryan beat Lehtonen with a wrist shot from the left circle.

Over two minutes later, Perry put in a rebound off a shot from the point to extend Anaheim's lead.

Beleskey lit the lamp with 4:58 remaining in the middle stanza. His initial backhand attempt was denied at the near post by Lehtonen. However, Beleskey stuck with it and flipped in the rebound from in front.

Selanne's empty-netter with 28 seconds left sealed the deal.
