Recap: Boston vs. Washington

Boston, MA (Sports Network) - Nathan Horton and David Krejci both posted a goal and two assists as Boston downed Washington, 4-1, at TD Garden.

"When you see big bodies like that coming at the speed that they come at, it certainly puts guys on their heels and that's what creates turnovers," Bruins head coach Claude Julien said of the impact of the Horton-Krejci line.

Andrew Ference and Rich Peverley also lit the lamp and Milan Lucic added a trio of helpers for the Bruins, who have won five of their last six games.

Anton Khudobin ran his record to 5-2-0 this season with a 32-save effort.

Marcus Johansson notched the lone score for the Capitals, losers in four of their last five. Michal Neuvirth made 34 stops in defeat.

Horton's slapper from the high slot gave the Bruins the lead with 5:48 left in the first period, and Krejci doubled the edge with 2:45 remaining.

Johansson was credited with the Caps' first score, at 1:24 of the second period, when a Bruins defenseman snagged his pass deep in the Boston zone but accidentally shot the disc into his own net.

However, Ference ripped his first of the season home just after the eight- minute mark to restore Boston's two-goal lead.

Peverley's poke through a scrum in the crease nine seconds into a power play made it 4-1 for the hosts with 2:41 elapsed in the third and Khudobin backed that with an 11-save final period.

"Only because I feel a little snake-bit," Capitals head coach Adam Oates said about his concern with the lack of offense. "We have had a lot of chances. I'm not worried about production, it will be there, but you go through stretches like this and wonder how it will work itself out."
