New York, NY (Sports Network) - Washington Capitals defenseman Mike Green will miss Sunday night's game against the New York Rangers.

Green is out with a lower body injury that caused him to leave Saturday's practice early, in addition to leaving Thursday's game against Tampa Bay in the final minutes.

Washington head coach Adam Oates said that Green was day-to-day and that defenseman Tom Poti will take his spot in the lineup.

Over 11 games this season, he has two goals and five assists.
