Canucks re-sign Edler to six-year deal

Vancouver, BC (Sports Network) - The Vancouver Canucks re-signed defenseman Alex Edler to a six-year contract on Friday.

Edler had 11 goals and 38 assists in 82 games last season.

The 26-year-old has played 386 career NHL games in a Canucks uniform, recording 43 goals and 141 assists to go along with 200 penalty minutes. Edler has also appeared in 55 playoff games for the Canucks, scoring seven goals and dishing out 20 assists.
