Coyotes sign 2012 top pick Samuelsson

Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - The Phoenix Coyotes have signed their 2012 first-round draft pick, forward Henrik Samuelsson, to a three-year, entry- level contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Samuelsson has 32 goals and 47 assists for 79 points in 67 games with Edmonton of the Western Hockey League this season.

The Coyotes selected the 19-year-old American with the 27th overall pick of the 2012 draft. He is the son of former NHL defenseman Ulf Samuelsson.
