Pens claim Boychuk off waivers from Carolina

Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins claimed forward Zach Boychuk off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday.

Over his five-year career, all with the Hurricanes, the 23-year-old has tallied seven goals and 11 assists over 73 games.

Boychuk appeared in just one contest for Carolina this year. He also had 16 goals and 16 assists in 37 games for the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Charlotte.
