Raleigh, NC (Sports Network) - The Carolina Hurricanes activated center Tim Brent from injured reserve on Friday.

Brent has played just one game since Feb. 14 because of a lower-body injury. He returned for the Feb. 28 win over Pittsburgh before going back on the shelf.

In 14 games this season, Brent has two assists and a plus-2 rating.

The Hurricanes also assigned forwards Brett Sutter and Jeremy Welsh to Charlotte of the American Hockey League.
