New York, NY (Sports Network) - Buffalo Sabres left wing Thomas Vanek, Pittsburgh Penguins left wing Chris Kunitz and Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Feb. 3.

Vanek captured the First Star after posting a league-best 10 points with five goals and five assists in four games last week. He compiled half of his point total in a 7-4 victory at Boston, registering a hat trick and two helpers.

The Austria native became the first Sabres player in 20 years to record multiple five-point games in a season. He had two goals and three assists against Philadelphia in the season-opener.

Kunitz earned the Second Star by totaling five goals -- four of which came in one game -- and three assists in four contests.

Luongo was rewarded with the Third Star after compiling a 2-0-1 record with a 0.95 goals-against average and a .963 save percentage.
