Lake Forest, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Bears have placed guard Lance Louis on injured reserve because of a knee problem.

Louis was hurt during Sunday's game against Minnesota when he was on the wrong end of a blindside block from Vikings defensive lineman Jared Allen on an interception return.

The Bears questioned the hit after the game, as Allen appeared to launch himself into Louis while blocking for Antoine Winfield. Allen was asked about it afterward and said he believed it was a legal hit.

Louis had started all 11 games at right guard for the Bears this season and has 28 starts in 41 games played over four seasons with Chicago.
