The Denver Nuggets agreed to a contract
extension with forward Renaldo Balkman and also exercised the fourth-year
option on the contract of forward Arron Afflalo on Saturday.
The Denver Post cited an NBA source as saying Balkman signed a three-year
contract extension for a $1.67 million base salary with bonuses.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged a career-high 5.0 points in his first year with
Denver last season after spending two years with the Knicks. In 186 career
games, Balkman has averaged 4.4 points and 3.8 rebounds.
Afflalo, acquired from Detroit in the offseason, has averaged 4.3 points and
1.8 rebounds in 151 career games.
