Los Angeles' other team resumes a four-game homestand
Wednesday at Staples Center when the Clippers play host to the Oklahoma City
Thunder.
The Clips fell to 1-1 on the residency on Monday when New Orleans' Chris Paul
finished with 24 points and 10 assists as the Hornets beat the Clippers for a
10th straight time with a 112-84 rout.
Chris Kaman, Rasual Butler and Ricky Davis each had 14 points for the
Clippers, who had a three-game winning streak broken.
"I thought we stopped doing the things we were good at earlier in the season,"
said Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy. "In the second half we tried individually
to get back into the game. We didn't play as a group and Chris Paul picked us
apart."
LA will finish the homestand against Toronto on Friday.
The Thunder, meanwhile, dropped the opener of a three-game road trip in
Sacramento on Tuesday when Jason Thompson posted 21 points and 14 rebounds
and rookie Tyreke Evans scored 20 in a solid all-around game, as the Kings won
their third straight game with a 101-98 triumph over Oklahoma City.
Kevin Durant nearly single-handedly won it for the Thunder, scoring 26 second-
half points and pouring in 17 of 19 points for the visitors over a stretch
spanning the third and fourth quarters. He ended with 37 points and was 18-
of-18 from the free throw line.
Jeff Green chipped in 19 points and Nenad Krstic netted 12 with eight rebounds
for Oklahoma City, which has lost four of five since winning its first two
games of the season.
"They've been playing hard and playing together and that's what wins games,"
Durant said of the Kings. "Give them all the credit, they came out and gave us
a great fight. We couldn't make plays down the stretch and they did."
The Thunder franchise, which will finish its trek in San Antonio on
Saturday, has dropped four of the past five games to the Clips.
These two teams will meet again in Oklahoma City on Sunday.
