Charlotte, NC (Sports Network) - Charlotte Bobcats forward Tyrus Thomas will miss approximately two months with a second-degree left calf strain, the team announced Monday.

An MRI also revealed a tear of the plantaris muscle, which is a smaller muscle that assists the calf in flexing the ankle.

Thomas suffered the injury during Saturday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

In eight games this season, the LSU product is averaging 6.6 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
