LA Clippers vs. Memphis Game Recap

Los Angeles, CA (Sports Network) - Chris Kaman led a balanced Clippers attack with 26 points and nine rebounds, as Los Angeles held on for a 113-110 victory over Memphis.

Craig Smith was a spark off the bench with 18 points, and Rasual Butler ended with 17 points and seven rebounds in the Clippers' third straight win following a four-game skid to open the season.

Eric Gordon and Baron Davis each chipped in 15 points to go with six and five assists, respectively.

Rudy Gay led all scorers with 33 points but missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer. Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol each recorded double-doubles, with Randolph scoring 19 points to go with 12 rebounds and Gasol ending with 10 and 13 in defeat.

Mike Conley went for 16 points and six assists for the Grizzlies, who went winless on a five-game road trip.

"We had our chances to make plays," Memphis head coach Lionel Hollins said. "We just had a few negative possession, some turnovers and a couple of lapses on defense."

Memphis held a 99-95 lead in the fourth, but a pair of Smith buckets near the midway point tied the game and started a 10-2 run for the Clippers.

Butler's three-pointer with 3:13 left gave LA a 105-101 lead. Conley hit a jumper to stop the rally, but Gay missed a chip shot off an offensive rebound on the next Grizzlies possession.

LA hit just 4-of-8 from the stripe down the stretch to give Memphis one last chance, but Gay's try from the right wing hit off the side of the rim.

Memphis started the game on a 10-2 run and led 33-29 after the first quarter.

"We didn't play with energy at the beginning of the game," Butler said. "We played with a lot more intensity and effort in the second half."

It was 60-55 at halftime in favor of the visitors, but LA tied it, 82-82, heading to the fourth.
