CINCINNATI (WKRC) -- Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Mat Latos underwent an operation last week to remove bone chips from his pitching elbow.

Latos revealed that he was dealing with the injury during the final month of the baseball season.

The 25-year-old is expected to be fully recovered before spring training.

Latos made 32 starts last year and threw a career-high 211 innings. He was 14-4 with a 3.16 ERA.
